My Traffic Generating Formula for Professionals

Want to know the formula I use for generating traffic to my own personal website? Let me share it with you...

In case you haven’t already realized all success online starts with creating a flow of traffic to your website. Without a continual stream of new visitors you have no chance  of starting any kind of relationship with your prospective clients. Traffic generation is essential.

Now I can only give you a broad overview of my strategy here, but the following information will give you a really good start to creating your own Traffic Strategy.

The first thing you need to be clear on is that Google and other search engines exist to deliver information to people who are searching for answers. So the key to generating traffic is to provide content that meets this need.

The key strategy that I recommend can be summed up in two words ‘Article Marketing’.

Before I give you my plan let me clarify a couple of things here:

Firstly when I talk about articles I’m talking about text-based, self-contained topic-specific content. It could be an article on your website or it could be a blog post.

Secondly, I’m not just talking about creating articles but also distributing, repurposing and promoting your articles. This is where the real power lies. A lot of people create content but few are taking the added steps of distributing it correctly and changing it into different formats.

Your main aim with article marketing is to get your content in front of as many readers as possible – that can’t be achieved by simply posting the content on your own site and stopping there.

So here’s the formula:

1) Write an article that my customers love. Content that addresses a need and solves a problem that your market faces.

2) Submit your articles to the article directories.

3) Convert the articles to press releases by making them read in the
third person.

4) Submit them to press release directories.

5) Convert the articles to podcasts by recording the words and
turning them into teleseminars.

6) Submit them to podcast directories.

7) Convert the marketing article to video by speaking over PowerPoint
or Camtasia and submitting them to video sites like Youtube..

Use social bookmarking services to promote your articles (in every format) in highly trafficed directories

Now let me tell you - that right there is a very powerful strategy for generating traffic and very rapidly building your online reputation. It’s not the complete story because I like to also use social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. But if you did nothing other than the above you’ll put yourself way in front of the pack..

That said, you may have noticed that there is (a big) catch to the strategy I’ve just described:
It takes TIME – from the creation of the content, to the conversion to other formats, to the distribution, to the promotion. Lots of time if you do all of this yourself and do it manually.

The good news though, is that you don’t have to do it all manually. There are two very important aspects to this strategy that I haven’t described yet. What are they?

Outsourcing and Automation

And there-in lies the biggest success tip of all. You simply can’t do it all yourself in any reasonable space of time. Trust me on this!

Social Media Marketing Tips – Boost Sales with Social Networking

If your sales are lagging, it’s time to take proactive steps and sign up for social networking sites. However, don’t be like your competition and sign up for social networking sites and never use them again.

The following social media marketing tips help outshine your competition – watch your sales increase and increase traffic to your websites.

• Sign up for social networking sites – Check out Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and niche social networking sites and sign up for them. Sign up for free – these sites are easy to navigate and user-friendly (even for the techno-challenged!)

• Fill out profiles – If you leave your profiles blank, you aren’t helping yourself when it comes to social media marketing. Include links to your websites and blogs (this is how you get backlinks to your sites). Fill out your business contact information, emails, etc. You WANT potential clients to contact you!

• Keep them coming back for MORE – Offer a freebie, valuable information, the latest and greatest news in your industry, contests, etc. Analyze your target markets and hone your message accordingly. People want VALUE so give them what they want so they keep coming back for MORE!

• Include your photo – People want to do business with a face and name they trust. Include a professional photo – a photo aligns you with your business name/company – a great branding trick!

• Don’t “over” sell/market – Remember less is more. You want to reel potential customers in with social media/networking messages.. You don’t want to scare them away. Stop tweeting about what you ate for breakfast. Get back to the basics of your marketing message and don’t over sell your message. Stay away from “spam” messages or you’ll get blocked (not only by the sites, but by other users). You want a fan base, not an “I Hate Your Business Because You Spam Me Too Much” club.

• Keep it simple - Showcase your knowledge but don’t “talk down” to your audience. Learn what works and what doesn’t work for potential customers. Remember to keep your language/message breezy and friendly (but with a professional edge).
